Indications
- Treatment of infections of the skin and mucous membranes caused by the Herpes simple virus, including primary and recurrent genital herpes.
- Prevention of recurrence of infections caused by the Herpes simple virus in patients with normal immunity.
- Prevention of infections caused by the Herpes simple virus in immunocompromised patients.
- Treatment of infections caused by the Varicella zoster virus (chickenpox, herpes zoster).

Compositionactive substance: aciclovir;
1 tablet contains 200 mg acyclovir;
excipients: potato starch, povidone, sodium croscarmellose, calcium stearate.
Dosage form. Pills.
Basic physical and chemical properties: tablets of white or almost white color with beveled and scored.
Pharmacotherapeutic group. Antiviral agents for systemic use.

Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to acyclovir, valacyclovir or other components of the drug.
Interaction with other medicinal products and other types of interactions.
Acyclovir is excreted mainly unchanged by the kidneys by tubular secretion, therefore, any drugs that have a similar elimination mechanism can increase the concentration of acyclovir in the blood plasma.
With the simultaneous use of the drug with other drugs, it is possible:
with probenecid, cimetidine - lengthening the half-life of acyclovir and the area under the concentration / time curve;
with immunosuppressants in patients after organ transplantation - an increase in the level of acyclovir and an inactive metabolite of an immunosuppressive drug (mycophenolate mofetil) in blood plasma; given the broad therapeutic index of acyclovir, no dose adjustment is required.
An experimental study of 5 men indicates that concomitant therapy with acyclovir increases the AUC of fully administered theophylline by about 50%. It is recommended to measure the concentration in the blood plasma while treating with acyclovir.
No clinically important interactions of acyclovir with other drugs have been identified.
